John Leon’s Golf Swing

Back when I was a kid, there was only one guy I knew who golfed. John Leon lived next door and he was my best friend growing up.  Back then, kids were everywhere in our west end Toronto neighbourhood and rarely were we home.  We left in the morning and came home for lunch, dinner and when the street lights came on.

But each Saturday, John and his father Jack headed to Lambton Golf & Country Club, both avid golfers. Jack was such a character. He started bussing tables at Scott’s Chicken Villas (the Canadian licensee for Kentucky Fried Chicken) and would one day be President of the incredibly successful chain. Jack and John could golf.

This week I connected with our other other great friend, Tim Tobin, who was visiting with his wife Janice. Tim and John have been high school teachers together in the Brampton Catholic School system, Tim just retiring after all these years.

I went home and ‘googled’ John, not finding anything but a trace.  But what a trace.

It looks like John has been helping students learn golf, and looks like he came up with a golf swing process, complete with illustrations.

I post it here because I know lots of people would like to know how to do it. Even us, who have been struggling with the game, ever since I knew him as a kid.
